Wonderful visit. Enjoyed see this famous landmark. Also enjoyed walking the trail around it and seeing the prairie dogs.
This place is beyond stunning. Be sure to stop by the visitor center to learn more about the various trails so that you can pick the right one for you. They do practice fire ecology in prescribed burn zones, so don’t worry if you see flames crackling while walking along the paths. This was the first national monument in the United States, and it’s one you definitely don’t want to miss. Also, be sure to stop and see the prairie dogs...but don’t try to touch them, since prairie dogs carry the plague.

Devils Tower what an incredible site to see in person. I have wanted to see this since saw the movie Close Encounters! I am now 52 and it was jaw dropping in person. Almost like it did not look real, this is a must see!
Scenic views abound, and can be experienced by car but are best appreciated on foot. Most people avail themselves of the paved Tower Trail, but even more awaits those who range further afield to the Redbeds Trail and Joyner Ridge Trail, where even more scenic beauty awaits.
The ranger staff are friendly and engaged, happy to share their passion and enthusiasm which is infectious.
So many iconic locations don’t live up to the anticipation and aren’t as impressive as envisioned. That is happily not the case with Devils Tower, which possesses a grandeur and majesty that must be experienced in person to be appreciated.
